Daily Reflections@Kippax
21st – 27th Feb 2010
this week we continue our
Healthy Households series – there will be study groups also meeting on this
theme from early March.
Sunday 21st Feb – Today we contemplate
Jesus being ‘tempted’ in Luke 4:1-13. Read and re-read the passage several
times. What ‘keeps grabbing’ your attention, why?
Monday 22nd Feb – what are the things you
struggle with as ‘temptations’ in your life, in a quiet and safe place spend
time naming them.
Tuesday 23rd Feb – What scripture readings
help you when you are facing a temptation?
Wednesday 24th
Feb – What
strategies do you have to appropriately deal with your temptations? Scripture
is one, what are some more…. Go through the temptations you named earlier in
the week and think about specific strategies that might help in each instance.
Thursday 25th Feb – The temptations of Jesus
comes in Luke’s gospel as part of his ‘preparing’ for ministry. Facing up to
our temptations is also about moving beyond them to new/better
attitudes/behaviours, what is a constructive ‘moving beyond’ step for you?
Friday 26th Feb – Talk with/email a member
of your household/close friend today about your ‘moving beyond’ step, ask them
to encourage you, remind you, support you over the next weeks and months as you
seek to take such a step.
Saturday 27th Feb – Being the best you, you
can be with faith & integrity was the theme for last Sunday’s message. How
have you gone this past week, spend some time reflecting honestly how you went,
both celebrate the successes and considering how you can do even better.
