Seniors

Our seniors are one of the greatest assets we have as a community.   We do well to value, support and learn from people who have experience and wisdom in life.  We also know it is important to offer very practical assistance to people who might otherwise be finding that life is becoming more difficult or more isolated.

We offer, partnership with the YMCA, exercise classes throughout the week, ranging from very active to fall-prevention and mobility classes.

Each Friday, starting at 2pm, we have a craft group that meets in the foyer and greatly enjoys each other's company, good humour and the chance to work on whatever is their latest piece of creativity.

On the first Monday of each month, our "OFF" (Over Fifties Fellowship) meets, starting at 2pm.    It may be for a movie, a guest speaker, games or a trivia quiz.

On the third Monday of each month, we hold a traditional communion service, starting at 11am, followed by a lunch and then some form of activity - again maybe a guest speaker, or maybe a trip out to one of Canberra's great attractions.

Plus of course, we greatly value the contribution that seniors make to the lives of the rest of the community - it is certainly not a one-way street by any means.   Our seniors are often the glue that holds the rest of our services together, whether it is in playgroups, School holiday programs, catering for seminars or other events, or just about anything.

Thank God for our wonderful seniors!
