We are proud to be part of a movement of faith that is firmly committed to justice (see the inaugural Statement to the Nation at the time of formation of the Uniting Church in 1977: http://nat.uca.org.au/resources/statements/statement1977.htm)
Individual members of our community are strongly involved in matters of advocacy - locally, nationally and internationally. Our social justice and advocacy group meets weekly to discuss and act on current events. We participate each year, and co-ordinate events, in Anti-Poverty and Refugee Week. "WIT - Women in Transformation" are active in their work for Child Wise, to eradicate Child Slavery. Our Team Leader, Gordon Ramsay, is currently a member of the ACT Social Inclusion Board, the General Committee of the ACT Council of Social Services (ACTCOSS) and the Anti-Poverty Week co-ordination team.
